You want to improve your marks?

In the AVS Learningdock you find suitable students of the AVS, the so-called captains, who support your learning individually.

To take part, your parents have to fill out the declaration of consent which you have to bring to your first lesson of tutoring.

You find the captains in the subjects. There is a photo, a short description and most important the calendar which can be used for making an appointment with your captain individually.

Becoming a captain

As a captain, you have to fulfil the following demands:

  • 9th-12th grade student
  • good to very good marks in the subject you want to tutor

These are your next steps:

  1. You fill out the “Kapitänspatent” and your subject teachers sign it. After that, you give it to Mrs. Carstens.
  2. Together with your parents, you fill out the declaration of consent and give it to Mrs. Carstens as well.
  3. You get briefed about the most important things like the allocations of appointments. Here you find an instruction.
  4. You get an account as captain, so you can manage your appointments. With your online calendar, mariners can book appointments with you.

How much does it cost to take part?

The captains get €10 for 60 minutes. The payment goes directly to the captain.

Where does the tutoring take place?

The “Lernwerkstatt“ of the AVS can be used on weekdays in the 5th and 6th lesson. Otherwise, you have to arrange a place privately. There is also the possibility of online tutoring.

How can I take part as a mariner?

At first, you have to give the declaration of consent to Mrs. Carstens.

After that, you can contact the captains via the AVS website and make an appointment immediately.

Which qualifications have the captains got?

The captains are students of the 9th grade and higher who have good (2) or very good (1) marks in the subjects they tutor. The teacher of the subject has to verify the ability to give tutoring lessons.

The AVS learning cloud and the textbook of the AVS can be used for tutoring.

Whether the tutoring will be in groups or alone, can be coordinated between the captain and the mariner/s.
